The
Coffee Menu
All our
coffee comes from the farms Bel visited during her PhD fieldwork. She
has met the farmers, played around in the coffee mills where this
coffee is processed and may have even helped pick some of it!
In
Nicaragua, our coffee comes from some very small farms in the
Matagalpa region. The farmers all work together
within the Cecocafen cooperative, who operate the
processing mill for all the farms. Cecocafen is
Fair Trade and organic certified, and all
their coffee is altitude- and shade grown Arabica. For more
information of what life is like on one of the cooperative coffee
farms, please take a look at Doctor Coffee's Blog
Our
Costa Rican coffee comes from Cafe Cristina, a small, independent farm near
Paraiso ("Paradise"!) on the side of one of the
Central Valley's many volcanoes. The farm
owners, Ernie and Linda Carmen, are passionate about
the
environment and they farm coffee with the aim of preserving the
biodiversity of the natural cloudforest as far as possible. As they
say: 'a healthy earth grows great coffee!'. Click on their logo to
visit their own website.
For
a limited time only, we are offering Amecafe, a delicious arabica blend
from different regions in Mexico, with a distinctive nutty flavour.
This is medium-roasted and we think it works far better for filter
coffee than espresso. As such, you can try it in its simple form - and
all the better for it.
Enjoy
Qualified Quality.
