The Piaggio Ape Van is actually pronounced Ap-ay, and means 'bee' in Italian. This is supposedly because it buzzes around town. We're not sure what sort of bees they have in Italy, but our van doesn't sound much like one to us! So we prefer to think of it as a small, playful but tame primate. And no primate likes to be caged, so we let him play freely in and around Darlington.Doctor Coffee and the Ape will be appearing at various events in and around Darlington and Teesside. Specific dates and places will appear here nearer the time.
We are also on Darlington Market every Saturday and Monday, outside Binns on Blackwellgate, 8.30am - 4.30pm. Please come visit us there for great coffee, a chat and to try our cakes - which have been pronounced "awesome" by our customers so far!
Darlington markets are running the special Christingle Markets in the run up to Christmas, and Doctor Coffee will be there to warm everyone up with Christmas teas, coffee, plenty of hot chocolate and homemade Christmas pudding! The Markets are from 12pm - 8pm, on Thurs 26th November and 3rd and 10th of December. See you there!
